Hi, I’m Shannon!
I started this company in 2023 after a long history of event planning and bartending. Even before getting into this industry professionally back in 2017, my family and friends can attest to the fact that I always loved the semantics of a well-planned event, and loved any excuse to throw an incredible party for my loved ones.
Since starting this business, we’ve eagerly helped with weddings, corporate events, community events, and private events. We’ve facilitated Community Fun Fairs, Block Parties, Bachelorette Trips, Private Birthday Parties, Local Tradeshows, and more!
When we first started this business, we only offered event planning services. Since then, we’ve grown to offer a number of different planning packages for all kinds of events of any size, event rentals for every kind of party, and most recently, our special event bartending packages. We’re so excited about the growth of Bay Events, and can’t wait to hear from your to see how we can bring your picture-perfect event to life!

My favourite part about this business is working in a fairly large Northern-Ontario community that still has such a small-town feel - I love all the unique clients we get to work with, and fun events we are able to plan.
This is not my full time job! I actually work in Human Resources full-time, and love my job, office, and coworkers. This is a passion of mine I love to spend my free-time doing.

We are based in North Bay, Ontario, but we do travel across the province for events! We charge a travel fee for any event over 40km from our home location.

Our availability is entirely based on a first-come, first-serve basis, for all services we provide! It's always best to reach out as soon as possible to give yourself the best chance of us having your event date available.

We can accept most all forms of payment; cash, cheque, e-transfer, online debit or credit payments, etc.

Yes, we require a deposit for all our services. Your event date is not accepted nor confirmed until the deposit has been paid.

We have a $100 event rental minimum when booking with us.

We have event rentals in almost all categories, for all events, of many different themes. A full list of our rental items is listed on our Rentals page.

Depending on the rental item, we do. For rentals like tents, we require our team to set up the rental. But for rentals like signs and general decor, you can set up the item(s) yourself.

Each rental item has a damage clause - the cost the client would be charged if the item were to be damaged during the rental period by the client. All clients sign their contract and agree to this damage clause when booking their rental.

We have three different bar packages; all of which come with basic bar equipment. A full list of bar equipment included can be viewed on our Bar Services page.

We are a dry-hire bartending service, which means we do not supply the alcohol. Our professional team will provide you with a detailed shopping list based on your event type, guest count, and personalized consultation.

Absolutely! We would work through this with you during our consultation.

All of our bartenders are SmartServe certified. Our team most recently updated their certifications in May of 2024.
Bartending

Absolutely! We've planned a number of themed events, and we love to put our creativity to good use. We have themed rentals available as well.

We can provide event insurance for an additional cost. We can also guide clients on securing event insurance if they choose to do it personally.

We have a number of preferred vendors we can recommend, but if you have vendors in mind you'd like to book with, please do!

We do! Our "day-of" package is more of a "month-of" package, as we like to be involved before the day-of to be sure we can best service you the day of.
